I’m excited to be teaching a Voi workshop at WAMED this year!
Bringing elegance, fluidity and visual interest to the stage, Voi (veil poi) is poetry in motion! In this workshop you will learn a short choreography which focuses on using the voi to highlight the dancers’ moves and weave a story on stage.
Learn and apply the technique, tricks and moves to a practical choreography you can work into your own performance repertoire. Previous voi experience is not a pre-requisite – anyone who wants to challenge themselves with this fascinating prop is welcome to join and will walk away with a new skill and a great entry piece! Please bring a set of voi, flags or poi if you have some, but there will be some available to borrow, so don’t let that stop you!
